Do you offer in-person and telehealth sessions?
At this moment, I am only offering telehealth sessions. Since my practice is telehealth, I am able to see clients throughout California.
How long are individual sessions?
The initial appointment is typically 45-60 minutes and subsequent sessions are normally 45-50 minutes.
What is your availability, and what happens if a crisis arises between sessions?
I work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays and I am unable to respond (to emails, text messages, phone calls, etcetera) in the evenings or on the weekends. If an emergency arises, please use the following resources that are available 24/7 (other emergency resources can be found under the resources tab):
911
National Suicide Hotline at 988
San Diego Access and Crisis Line (888) 724-7240 if in San Diego
What is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)?
EMDR is an evidence-based type of therapy most commonly used to treat trauma. I have received extra training to be able to use EMDR with clients. Typical EMDR sessions last 60-110 minutes. To learn more from the EMDR institute, click here.
Can I bring my baby to session?
Yes, of course. Some parents prefer to bring their baby, while some parents prefer to schedule session while childcare can be arranged so that its "you" time. It's up to you.
What if my baby cries during session?
Your baby cries?!?! Just joking, all babies cry at some point and parents tend to hear the cries louder than anyone else in the room. I welcome babies in session and am known to lead parents through relaxation exercises to help cope with this.
